Daft Punk has no plans to reunite, but is launching a collaboration with the game “Fortnite” based on the now-split group’s existing catalog of music.
Per a blog post shared by the Epic Games-owned gaming platform Monday, “Starting September 27 at 2 PM ET, step through the veil and embark on a sonic journey through the minds of the Grammy-winning electronic duo, Daft Punk. The band may be no longer, but their music lives on in Fortnite! Soar through their random access memories to a transformative dance floor destination, where the festivities kick off with a supercut from their legendary Alive tour and Alive 2007 album.”
To be very clear, “Fortnite” states in a FAQ section of the post: “The Daft Punk Experience is an immersive music experience based on the band’s beloved music. The band is not getting back together.”
More to come…
